Primary Shiksha

1) Ekal Abhiyan, Karnataka, is a state voluntary organization covering entire Karnataka having its SVO office at Belgaum and is working under  “Ekal Vidyalaya Abhiyan ” having its head office at New Delhi.

2) Main thrust has been given for the development of tribal and rural society living in remote villages of India. “Ekal Vidyalayas” (One Teacher Schools” are set up in these areas to impart Primary Education to the children in the age group of 5 – 14. They are taught the syllabus of 1 st to 4 th Std. in imformal way. The distinct feature of these vidyalayas is “Value Based Education”. These shcols are conducted from 04.00 to 07.00 in the evening by the Acharya (Teacher). The Acharya is 10th or 12th pass Youth  from the same village. The panchpukhi siksha covers following subjects:

  • Primary Education
  • Village development ( Gram Vikas)
  • Health education
  • Empowerment Jagran (Awarness and proper implementation about Govt’s schemes at village level for welfare of the villagers.

3)Ekal Vidylaya has established 57,857 such schools all over India (1530 in Karnataka) so far and has plans to establish more schools by 2014. This scheme is implemented in 9 districts of Karnataka and they are as follows:

1) Khanapur
2) Bidar
3) Gangawati
4) Chamrajnagar
5) Gulbarga
6) Mysore
7) Bagalkot
8) Chikmagalur
9) Hassan
(We have established 180 schools around Belgaum in Khanapur Taluka & Dandeli.).
